Indiana police are seeking the whereabouts of a 51 year old woman who they claim struck and killed her toddler granddaughter, before proceeding to drive off in a suspected hit and run.

Lisa Tesch is alleged to have struck 18-month-old Eleanor Campbell as she darted out of her parent’s motel room. Before they could stop her, the girl made it to the parking lot of the Motel 6, on 2012 Hospitality Way, where she was struck by a white Chevrolet Trailblazer.

The driver sped away, but the incident was captured on surveillance video, police said.

What brought grandmother to Motel 6?

Cheyenne Allen, the little girl’s mother, said her boyfriend opened the door only for the toddler to run outside where she was fatally struck, before they could stop her, WLKY reported.

First responders arrived and the toddler immediately received medical care and was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital with a police escort.

She later died from her injuries.

It remained unclear if the grandmother had just left her daughter’s motel room and what brought her to the residence. It remained unclear how the mother, boyfriend and toddler came to be staying at Motel 6.

The Jeffersonville Police Department has asked the community to be on the lookout for Eleanor’s grandmother, Lisa Tesch, and caution that she should be considered ‘armed and dangerous.’

Tesch drives a white Chevrolet Trailblazer with Kentucky plate number A9Z280.

Of note, Tesch was one of three people arrested in 2018 after police serving a search warrant in Clark County found 2 ounces of meth, marijuana and a stolen weapon inside a home,
