Kellogg, Idaho Father’s Day shooting: Major Jon Kaylor shoots dead teen neighbor Devin Smith and three others, thought to be family members after ongoing claims that the son was engaging in indecent behavior directed at the father’s young daughters.
A parent pushed to the edge… A Kellogg, Idaho father is alleged to have shot dead four individuals at a next door household in retaliation to one of the family members pleasuring themselves at the sight of the man’s young daughters, and police’s failure to take any action.
‘Major’ Jon Kaylor, 31, ( actual real name: Major Jon Martin Kaylor and going by Majorjon Kaylor on Facebook) according to social media posts is said to have become enraged about discovering alleged acts of indecency and impropriety involving one of the victims and his daughters and in a ‘crime of passion’ killed Devin Smith, 18, and three other individuals at the house.
The three other victims were believed to the Smith’s younger brother and parents.

Neighbor’s teen son engaging in improper behavior directed towards young daughters
All four household members were shot to death at a multi-family home near the Mountain View Congregational Church, the Shoshone News-Press reported.
The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office and the Kellogg Police Department responded to a home on Brown Avenue around 7:30 p.m. and found four victims who died of gunshot wounds. Police declined to release the name of the suspect gunman or victims pending further investigations.
The murders are thought to be tied to the actions of 18 year old teen, Devin Smith who had recently graduated Kellogg High School. Social media posts indicated the teen persisting in lewd and intransigent behaviour, that included the former student ‘pleasuring himself’ in class.
Reports the Idaho Tribune: ‘…sources told the Idaho Tribune that Smith was caught m**turbating in class and was only given one, maybe 2 days of in school suspension as punishment for his perverted acts. These allegations remain unconfirmed at this time.
According to several viral posts online, in a local Facebook forum, Devin Smith was also caught ‘pleasuring himself’ while looking at his neighbors’ two underage girls.
Posted the alleged suspect’s wife, Kaylie Kaylor 5 days ago (in part): ‘This dude was staring out the window directly at my girls and I and beating his d#$% off. I saw his naked body jump up on his bunk bed and scoot back. I make an effort to not look in their windows so the fact that he was standing right in front of it and my daughters saw everything is absolutely disgusting.’
No police action taken
Adding further: ‘Why were you staring in their direction?! I immediately ran to get Major who went down to go bang on the window, he was gone so Major went to the front door and had to knock several times before he got an answer. I am freaking distraught. I’m already so uncomfortable living here and now this. I called the landlord to let him know in case they start trying to complain about us or if they want to try and start drama and get us kicked out so he knows why. I am livid. The police have been called! I don’t take stuff like this lightly, I just want to protect my children but people always act like you are being dramatic.’
Kaylie Kaylors Facebook says that they wrote statements and were talking to the police about the issue, which seemingly met with little action being taken against Devin Smith.
Posted the distraught mother: ‘We wrote our statements and are pressing the issue and so are the cops. They were as helpful as could be. He is 18 and started crying and denying it. Then they tried to turn it on my kids saying they were mad they were mad that they were walking down looking into their windows. We didn’t see it walking down the stairs, we saw it from across our yard, 15-20 feet away.
A father takes matters into his own hands
Adding, ‘He was positioned to where my daughter and then myself could see exactly what he was doing.’
‘This is the last thing that my 11 year old daughter should have had to see.’
Despite Kaylie’s call to the Police, no action was taken, with Smith alleged to have continued perpetuating perverted acts while watching the Kaylor children.
Posted local woman, Sarah Lindsay, ‘Peeping pedophiles.. Tried for a week to get help from the cops. The cops wouldn’t help. Guy did it again today and the dad of the girls went over and shot the guys entire family … 4 people dead.
One of the four victims, was Devin Smith’s youngest brother.
The family was allegedly shot just hours after Kaylie posting the following on Facebook:
Happy Father’s Day to the best dad ever. I see you and all that you do for your kids and I. You work hard, stand your ground and don’t give up. You’re the exact person I want our kids looking up to. Our life together is the greatest and I’m so amazingly lucky to have someone like you as the father to my children. The kids and I love you! Can’t wait for you to get home from work.
Authorities continue to investigate.
