West Memphis Chick-fil-A workers fired after spitting into batter caught on video as management is forced to issue apology following viral incident.
Not so delicious. Two Chick-fil-A workers in Tennessee have been fired after video emerged appearing to show one of them spitting into the batter.
The viral clip shows an employee at the West Memphis fast food restaurant mixing the chicken batter vigorously as she announces (see below) what the secret formula is before apparently spitting into the mixture while her co-worker records the unfolding scene, ABC 24 reported.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the operator of the store said both employees were sacked.
‘We have been made aware of a video circulating on social media depicting behavior of a Team Member that is completely unacceptable. We have identified the Team Member, as well as the one filming, and have terminated employment effective immediately,’ the statement reads.
‘We have very strict standards and high expectations for Food Safety, Team Member behavior, and our Guest Experience and this was an egregious violation of all of the above. You trust us to deliver you safe, fresh food with a team who genuinely cares about you. We fell short of those expectations here,’ it continued.
‘We sincerely apologize and assure you we take matters like these very seriously and act expeditiously to address them.’
