Woman for Trump: Michigan high school student assaulted by teacher over pin

Woman For Trump pin drama: Sadie Earegood Michigan Mason High School student accuses teacher of manhandling over political beliefs. 

A 16-year-old high school Michigan student claims a male teacher assaulting her for wearing a ‘Women For Trump’ pin last week.

Sadie Earegood, a junior at Mason High Schooltold FOX 47 that the alleged incident happened last Thursday when her teacher confronted her, saying he didn’t like the pin.

‘That’s fine, you don’t have to like it, we can have our opinions,’ she recalled saying to the educator.

Earegood said the man then grabbed her pin, leading to a struggle, before he got a hold of it and pinned it upside down on his own shirt.

‘He grabbed it and I pulled and I tried to push his hand away and he grabbed my shoulder,’ said Earegood.

‘No one should get that upset about someone wearing a political pin.’

The student’s mother say that they filed a police report, accusing the teacher of criminal assault and larceny WILX 10 reports.

‘He had no right to put his hands on my child over a pin or anything else,’ Capi Earegood told the media outlet. 

‘The first amendment gives everyone the right to express their freedom of speech. No one should get that upset about someone wearing a political pin.’

The school is aware of the accusations.

‘Once we have a complete understanding of the situation, we will take appropriate action,’ school superintendent Ronald Drzewicki said.

Earegood says she won’t stop wearing political pins and being outspoken in her views.

‘I just want him to know that it’s not okay to do that. I want this to be a learning experience for other teachers, and I’m not going to stop wearing my political stuff,’ the 16 year old girl told WILX 10.

The alleged brouhaha is yet another episode of citizen unrest and misbehavior in the US following the election of Trump who ran on the banner, ‘Make America Great Again.’ Pundits point to the Republican president’s anti immigration policies and alleged womanizing history while Trump advocates admonish detractor’s anti free speech antics.
