A Long Island, NY woman who had moved to Florida for rehab treatment only to go missing has been found dead according to reports.

Jenna Jacobsen disappeared on April 25 having last been seen in Lake Worth Beach near Palm Beach.

It wasn’t until almost a month later, on May 21, that she was reported missing.

20-year-old Jacobsen had come to Palm County for drug treatment. Her subsequent death is being investigated as a homicide according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Jacobsen was identified by the county medical examiner after analyzing human remains that were discovered last week in Lantana, less than two miles where she was last seen alive- the Palm Beach Post reported.

Jenna Jacobsen father: ‘She was an extremely kind, loving young woman’.

Posted Jenna’s father, Chris Jacobsen, of East Islip, NY on his Facebook page.

‘She was an extremely kind, loving young woman,’

‘She had hopes and dreams and was aspiring to go to college and work in the veterinarian field.’

‘Your daughter was an amazing soul,’ one man wrote in response.

‘I am so sorry,’ one woman wrote. ‘This is absolutely terrifying and hits close to home. I came down to get sober 18 months ago. This is absolutely sickening.’

Jacobsen said his daughter, described as being, 5-foot, 2-inch and blonde with the word ‘serenity’ tattooed on her wrist- disappearing after coming to Florida to go to a substance abuse treatment facility in Broward County

He said that facility suddenly shut down, and Jenna was transferring to a facility in West Palm Beach when something went wrong.

After not hearing from his daughter for several weeks, the dad ended up flying to Florida to search for her himself.

‘They made it as far as Lake Worth, there was an altercation, and she disappeared,’ told the father.

‘This has just been a devastating experience and we are all heartbroken and I am hoping to find her as soon as we can,’ he told the WPTV at the time.

Jacobsen’s exact cause of death is unknown, but is being classified as a homicide.

Her father is asking anyone with information to come forward to put whoever is responsible for Jenna’s death behind bars.

‘Please bring them to justice so she can rest easy and we can have closure on this,’ said Chris. ‘To be victimized like this is just beyond words that I can explain.’
