Katie Christian an Emmons, Minnesota woman arrested after sending 696 texts messages in violation of no contact order over a 3 week period to an Iowa man.
A Minnesota woman has been arrested after allegedly sending an Iowa man over 696 text messages in violation of an April no contact order. The unwanted texts transpired over the course of three weeks in June.
Winnebago County District Court records say 34-year-old Katie L. Christian, of Emmons, being charged with stalking and other crimes. The Globe Gazette reported the love hurt woman’s arraignment scheduled for Aug. 24 in Forest City.
Along with making an average of unwanted ten text messages a day, a criminal complaint stated Christian also making 10 phone calls and going to the man’s Lake Mills house three times in an attempt to make contact with him or his daughter.
CityPages reports Christian facing one count of felony stalking, a crime punishable under Iowa law by up to five years in prison and/or a $7,500 fine. She also faces eight charges of violating the no-contact order, and two more of criminal harassment.
Attempts to reach the woman’s attorney Friday were unsuccessful.
