Gregory P. Veres: How I ran over my girlfriend of two years and left her for dead

Gregory P. Veres set to appear in court after running over his girlfriend of two years in a hit an run and leaving her for dead. 

Gregory P. Veres a 30 year old Virginia man has been charged with murder after allegedly running over his girlfriend of two years in a hit and run incident.

Notice of Dawn Marie Meade’s death came after the 40 year old woman’s body was found on the ground Friday outside the rear gate of Blue Ridge Shores in Louisa County

A release from the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office told of Meade, ‘likely’ having been struck by a vehicle around midnight Friday, eight hours before. 

The release noted the estranged couple had been dating for about two years and moved to Louisa from Connecticut a few months earlier.

Told Joyce Palmer whose residence, Meade’s body was found via NBC 12, ‘It’s kind of eerie.’

Adding, ‘I got up and went outside and looked. and it was a white auto coming out of the church parking lot. and it stopped in my driveway and went on.’

And of the morbid discovery the following morning, ‘There were sheriff’s deputies and state police. measuring, putting up tape.’

Veres was taken into custody on Friday after he called to report that his car was heavily damaged.

The boyfriend is being held without bond at Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange County and is scheduled to appear in Louisa County General District Court on Monday where he faces second degree murder charges. 

To date authorities have declined to speculate as to why Veres hit and run his girlfriend to death.
