Cincinnati Cameo Nightclub shooting: What led to a gunman firing off inside a packed venue in the early hours of Sunday. Shooter remains on the run.
One person has died with another at least 15 persons being injured after a gunman stormed Cincinnati nightclub venue, the Cameo Club where at 1am, Sunday morning they opened gunfire on revelers.
Pursuant to wreaking havoc, the two gunmen fled the Kellogg Avenue vicinity, with police yet to have made any arrests.
The incident led to scores of individuals being taken to nearby hospitals after being struck by stray gunfire.
Police to date have said that the shooting does not appear to be terrorism related.
In a press brief, Captain Kim Williams said there was ‘just lots of chaos, obviously, when shots were fired’.
Adding, ‘Saturday night, it is a very young crowd. We have had incidents here in the past, but this is by far the worst.’
Several officers were working security detail at the club and performed first aid and tried to revive the person who died, Williams said.
At the time of the shootings, there were hundreds of revelers.

Assistant Police Chief Paul Neudigate said that several of the victims have life-threatening injuries.
‘We are in the middle of a very horrific situation that occurred at the nightclub with multiple victims,’ Neudigate said. ‘It’s going to be a long night for our homicide units to investigate.’
WLWT reported that at least one person was in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Other victims are also thought to have life-threatening injuries, while some drove themselves to nearby hospitals for treatment.

In the aftermath of the shooting incident, police said they were trying to track down witnesses who had earlier gathered at the club for what had been promoted on social media by the venue to be a ‘grown up and sexy night.’
‘The biggest problem when you have a large crowd like this and the shots ring out, a lot of the witnesses disappear,’ Williams said.
Police said it’s still unclear what prompted the shooting.
Authorities were asking anyone with information to come forward. Williams said investigators are checking to see if surveillance cameras were working.
Cincinnati restaurateur Jeff Ruby is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the shooting death, he tweeted Sunday.

Of note, this is not the first shooting at Cameo Club. Back in 2015, three men were left injured after being shot outside the venue.
Two of the victims were hurt during a ‘melee’ involving a dozen people.
Moments later someone involved in the fight fired up to four shots striking a 21-year-old in the foot.
The incident comes less than a year after gunman, Omar Mateen, 29 slaughtered 49 revelers in the deadliest mass shooting in US history at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub in Florida.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack which left dozens of victims injured as well as the dead.
Shortly before the attack, Mateen, of Afghani heritage called 911 and pledged allegiance to terror leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, law enforcement officials said at the time.
To date officials have denied the Cincinnati Cameo Club shooting was terrorist inspired….
