What led to Angelique Chase Maryland mother shooting dead her 17 year old son? Police describe teen son’s death the result of a domestic dispute.
Angelique Chase a 48 year old Clinton, Maryland mother has been arrested after shooting dead her 17 year old son during an argument.
The woman’s arrest came after authorities responded circa 9pm Thursday night to a report of a shooting, where upon they found 17 year old teen, Christopher Perry suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the boy being taken to hospital, Prince George’s County Police told of the son dying soon after.
During questioning at the scene, the woman, ‘admitted her involvement in the homicide’.
Upon her arrest, Chase was charged with first and second degree murder, describing the son’s death the result of a ‘domestic dispute’.
The Washington Post reported that the mother is awaiting a court appearance to determine bond.
Responding to the murder, the suspect’s sister Lajuan Chase said her nephew was ‘a good kid’ that resided with his mother and ‘didn’t give her any trouble’.
Told the sister: ‘Nobody in the family understands or knows what went wrong. We’re trying to understand that ourselves…. I’m just at a loss for words.’
The teen’s father Christopher Perry Jr. said his son was a 12th grader and scheduled to graduate from Grace Brethren Christian School in May.
Told the victim’s father: ‘He was a good kid. He went to a good private school and everything. He was well-mannered and polite.’
The father said he didn’t know what could have led to the dispute.
It wasn’t immediately understood if the father lived at the family home and to what degree he was responsible in the raising of his son.
Authorities have yet to say what may have led to mother and son arguing and why in the end Angelique Chase chose to murder her son.
