Oh really?? Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer installed a nursery in her office before curtailing home at work for employees.

Marissa Mayer would like you to let all you Yahoo employees she thinks you’re going to be more productive in front of her glare…

Tasked with turning around a fading internet giant, Yahoo’s newly hired CEO, Marisa Mayer has decided it’s high time that the privilege of working from home no longer exist. Which is to say that shit is over and if you value your job it’s time you get used to the idea or if your a little rattled by the prospect of having to now turn up to a physical location then Marisa is also offering you can also go and look for another job too.

Said an office memo:

To become the absolute best place to work, communication and collaboration will be important, so we need to be working side-by-side. That is why it is critical that we are all present in our offices. Some of the best decisions and insights come from hallway and cafeteria discussions, meeting new people, and impromptu team meetings. Speed and quality are often sacrificed when we work from home. We need to be one Yahoo!, and that starts with physically being together.

Which might all be true then again there’s the drag of having to deal with traveling back and throe to work and dealing with all that office politics you’d rather not. Then again Marissa may be on a right thing considering how bloated the company has become and that some employees are simply not pulling in their socks sleeping working from home.

For all those of you interested in taking up Marissa’s offer of finding a new job if you’re not so thrilled with having to deal with now turning up to work can I say online blogging. You get to write in your pj’s, never have to take a shower and eat like a glutton without fear of contempt from your fellow workers. Needless to say you probably won’t get paid as much as you used to working for a high tech outfit…
