5 Columbia students busted for selling drugs to frat houses.

In a case that has the hallmarks of an underworld signature 5 Columbia University students were arrested today in a drug sting that has the academic world spinning…

NY Post; Five Columbia University students were busted today for selling drugs at three frat houses — a sweep that also resulted in the arrest of a supplier who had tried to kidnap a rival drug dealer — as part of an undercrover drug sweep that began over the summer, authorities said.

“Operation Ivy League” also led to the arrests and indictment of three of the students’ drug suppliers, including a defendant from the East Village who is charged with plotting to kidnap a pair of rival cocaine traffickers, police said.

So much for getting an education, or maybe this was the 5 indicted individuals seemingly ‘easy’ way to pay for Columbias’s steep tuition costs?

And prey, what were the students selling?

The students sold the cops a variety of drugs totaling $11,000, including cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, Adderall and LSD. In some cases, LSD was applied to Altoids mints and other candy.

Hmm, that should help fellow students soak in their school lessons…But of course when you are on to a good thing you will do almost anything to keep the good times rolling…

“The fact that a supplier to the Columbia students was willing to kill his rivals should demolish any argument that drugs on campus is a victimless crime,” said Police Commissioner Ray Kelly. “This is no way to work your way through college.”

The students, Chris Coles, 20; Harrison David, 20; Adam Klein, 20; Jose Stephan Perez, 20; and Michael Wymbs, 22, were indicted today on various charges, including charged with the criminal sale of a controlled substance. The students are expected to be arraigned today in Manhattan Criminal Court.

And who were the preferred customers? Why you- the future leaders of our free enlightened world…

The majority of the sales took place in common areas and bedrooms at Alpha Epsilon Pi, Pi Kappa Alpha and Psi Upsilon frat houses. Two of the students also sold drugs from their rooms at the Intercultural House and East Campus Housing.

But when the money keeps coming you can’t help thinking of new fun ways to now pay for the next thing on your checklist…

“An ominous aspect of this investigation was the involvement of college students in the violent drug dealing business. The recent shootings on September 29 and November 1 of young people involved in selling marijuana highlight the all too familiar link between drugs and violence,” said Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan.

Sarzynski (one of the suppliers to the students) also manufactured drugs for distribution at his apartment on East 6th St. with the help of his girlfriend Megan Asper, who cops said specialized in growing pot.

Sarzynski is also charged for attempting to kidnap a pair of rival cocaine traffickers who he believed had stolen money from him.

We wonder which school the rival traffickers went to? Surely not another another rival graduate school. But then again, why bother with the aspirations of the professional classes when you create your own very special class. Prison sentences and the occasional kidnap and shooting mission aside…

One day, when you too are getting ready to apply for college you might just skip the whole fuss and go for where the real action is, assuming living a life on the skip is your cup of tea?
