(we both pause for a moment as if to consider what’s been said)

When I last caught up with you it was at the Somaly Mam gala– how is that you got involved in that venture?

AW: Over the summer I went to South East Asia and I was significantly alarmed when I learned of a lot of young women’s dilemma, so if I can help spread the message and assist abused individuals I will.

SCV: The galas and the parties often serve as a vehicle for you to showcase some of the work of the notable and up and coming young designers you are working with, with you ostensibly modeling as much as you are styling their look. Is that something you see yourself doing?

AW: I think the challenge is to marry the philanthropic cause, the intent with the event with the style and panache that a gala or a party so often deserves.

SCV: Do you want to be  famous?

AW: Can’t you tell?

(rapturous laughter)

SCV: Why has becoming famous become such an important commodity?

AW: I think it’s one way of getting your message out there, your vision, of standing out and apart- and really I think you have to if you’re going to create a brand, presence, especially something that will have people wanting to work with you.

SCV: Which brings me back to my original question, will you be embarking on some sort of reality show, which is to say you have been approached…
