The Women’s Mafia Fashion Show was a welcome change from the formal feeling shows of the day. The setting was relaxed, and before the show there were chocolate and wine pairings. A raspberry cordial truffle, after nothing but cocktails and hungry models, was much needed.  Unfortunately, the relaxed feeling translated into some disorganization come showtime, but it was quickly resolved and out came Phuong My’s designs to start the show.

The girls had polished updos and shiny cheeks, cat-eyes and pink lips. In My’s dresses, they looked like Holly Golightly Barbies. Ladylike designs with impeccable draping and construction, these are the type of dresses that beg for white gloves and a pillbox hat. The silhouettes were straight out of the 50s, and the pastel colors made everything sweet and pretty and light.
