Elsewhere in the giant tent, on the Museum grounds, the dress code allowed everything from blue jeans and flip flops to long formal dresses. Rufus Wainwright came in a neck scarf (in the nearly unbearable heat) and his other favorite accessory his bf Jorn Weisbrodt. To their credit, housewives of New York, led by Ramona Singer, opted for the mid-length look (and good behavior) as did New York’s 1st lady Michelle Patterson – talk about being in the mix! Bits and pieces of news heard at the event included society fixture Jamie Gregory cooing about becoming a new grandmother; master painter (and Louisiana Mansion collector—yes he owns TWO!) Hunt Slonem will be the subject of a documentary by legendary filmmaker Albert Maysle; called the great gentleman of PR, Matt Rich celebrating the 20th anniversary of his company, PlanetPR.
All-in-all this little shindig raised $700k+ for the Parrish’s.
