SCV: What do you do?
AB: I’m a fashion designer. Although I started off as a costume fitter on movie sets. And way before that I used to model. I also style and design for feature film sets and TV shows.
SCV: How did you get into fashion design?
AB: I decided I wanted to design things that I and my friends could wear. My atelier is in the East Village. This is my bog site-astridland.blogspot.com and this is my fashion site- astridland.com
SCV: Are you famous?
AB: I’m not sure. Some of the people I have worked with though are- Eva Mendez, Scarlett Johansson, Tim Curry, Sam Rockwell.
SCV: What is fame?
AB: When you can be seen in many pictures.
SCV: Is it a measure of success to be famous?
AB: The type of fame that I seek is for people to respect the type of work that I do.
SCV: What is celebrity?
AB: Stars, excitement. It’s newsworthy and quick consumption for most people.
