My initial attempts at eye contact were unfruitful, but I would not be deterred—I was set on getting a question in, formulating my exact wording as I made my way to the end of the press line.  As Jon Bon Jovi approached, his manager granted each of us standing one question—this was it!  What was I going to say?  “You, you have a question?” Rather taken aback at ridiculousness of the question (as if I were to say “No, I’m good, I think Access Hollywood covered every base.”) I yelled rather than spoke my affirmative. “Yes!” “Jon,” I began, “Natalie Fasano.  How are you?” I think he said “Fine,” but I was on tunnel vision.  All I can say was that he looked damned fine, his demeanor showcasing a perfect marriage of unguarded excitement and hardened rock and roll.  He was ready to go in, but I had to ask my question; the full interview is below.

“Jon, what was it like to take a look at your career in retrospective; what did it feel like to view the documentary for the first time?”

“Well, it’s not really a retrospective at all,” he replied, staring straight at me with a look of unbridled incredulousness (which our photographer Keith hopefully captured).  “You should really go see the film.”

Priceless.  I stepped aside, allowing one of the remaining gods of rock and roll to extricate him self from the pit; at least I made an impression as the final questioner of the night!  Luckily, Hornitos Tequila, one of the evenings sponsors (100% pure Agave tequila!? Do send us a sample!) was on call to give me their card; leave it to them to know when a girl needs a drink!
