Nancy Guthrie family will pay ransom money for the safe return of 84-year-old mother to alleged abductor(s) as second Monday deadline approaches after second ransom note sent in new video Savannah Guthrie video released on Instagram.
The family of Nancy Guthrie has offered to pay the alleged kidnapper(s) to return their 84-year-old mother who vanished just on one week ago from her Tucson, Arizona home.
‘We received your message and we understand,’ long-time ‘Today’ show co-host Savannah Guthrie, the daughter of Nancy, announced in an Instagram video on Feb. 7.
‘We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us and we will pay.’
Guthrie family offer to pay ransom money after second ransom note sent as Monday and final deadline approaches
Saturday’s statement from the family came after the FBI announced it was examining two ransom notes that could be tied to Guthrie.
The first note, sent to a small number of media outlets, allegedly asked for an unspecified amount in millions of cryptocurrency in exchange for the 84-year-old matriarch to be returned home.
The offer to pay an unspecified ransom amount comes just days after a Thursday deadline coming and passing, with a prior ransom note warning there would be ‘dire’ consequences if the family had declined to yield prior to a second and final approaching Monday deadline.
Guthre was last seen the evening of Jan. 31 after she had dinner with her family only to fail to turn up for Sunday morning church services.
Authorities believe she was removed against her will after DNA tests came back as a match to her from blood found on her front porch.
There are still no suspects named as the search for Nancy Guthrie enters its seventh day. The house was still this morning after a flurry of search activity Friday evening. Drone footage showed deputies and agents on the roof and searching the property with flashlights, and a car was towed away near the home. The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward for information.
Officials are probing the authenticity of a new message sent to KOLD yesterday about Nancy Guthrie. The note included sensitive information and no deadline, according to an anchor at the outlet.
