Miriam Yarimi, Audi driver driving with suspended license strikes & kills Orthodox Jewish mom & her 2 young daughters leaving third child clinging to life. Was speed or drinking a factor in deadly Ocean Parkway crash in Gravesend, Brooklyn?

It was the first warm day in months and a young Brooklyn family wanted to take advantage of the warmer weather, but fate had other ideas …

A woman driving with an alleged suspended license has killed a mother and her two children along with leaving a third child clinging to life after striking an Uber vehicle and then careening into the young family at a Brooklyn crossing.

The incident happened just after 1 p.m. on Ocean Parkway close to Quentin Road in Gravesend/Midwood when a Toyota Camry and an Audi collided, as driven by 32 year old woman, Miriam Yarimi, authorities said.

What caused Audi driver to slam into Uber and then young family leaving synagogue?

The Audi, then continued forward and traveled into a crosswalk where it struck the young family, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said during a news conference at the scene, according to FOX5NY.

The mother, 35, and her girls, 8 and 6, were killed. Her 4-year-old son was in critical condition.

The victims were identified as mother Natasha (Sara) Saada (35) A”H, and daughters Diana Saada (7) A”H, and Debra Saada (5) A”H. The 4 year old was identified as Pinchas Raphael Ben Sarah, Yeshiva World reported.

The young family were mowed down as they walked the crossing with green walk signs.

Tisch told reporters that speed ‘certainly could have been a factor’ into the fatal traffic accident while noting the investigation was still in its early stages. Authorities were also looking into whether the Audi ran a red light.

‘I will call it like it is. This was a horrific tragedy caused by someone who should not have been on the road,’ Tisch said. ‘A family and a neighborhood were devastated in an instance.’

The family were Orthodox Jewish, walking back from synagogue when they were struck, a resident told the  nypost.

Yarimi, 32, has not been charged. She and the 62-year-old Camry operator were taken to Coney Island hospital in stable condition and were expected to get tested for drunken driving.

Of disconcert, the car Yarimi was driving has more than 90 tickets, including 15 school zone speeding tickets and red-light tickets in the last 12 months, city records show. The car has been nabbed with 20 speed-camera tickets and five red-light tickets since August 2023.

While Tisch declined to speculate on why Yarimi had a license suspension, the official did say that drivers like her should not be on the roads.

The horrifying incident unfolded on a warm Saturday with summer-like temperatures, as families in the heavily Orthodox Jewish neighborhood emerged from synagogue.

‘The bang I heard, it was like an earthquake,’ the Ocean Parkway resident said. ‘It went on for a good 30 seconds. It felt like the world stopped for that second.’

The man, who rushed to the crashed cars and called 911, said the neighborhood was packed with people, ‘like Manhattan on Christmas,’ prior to the deadly collision.

‘It is a shock,’ he said. ‘I think everyone that was witnessing this, I mean, at like 1 o’clock in the afternoon, everyone’s coming home from synagogue, everyone’s going to places. The streets [were] full with pedestrians.’

Eight others were hurt as a result of the collision, authorities said.

Paramedics could be seen treating a child, whose arm was in a sling, inside an ambulance. Children’s shoes were strewn about the pavement, as onlookers crowded around the destroyed vehicles as emergency personnel worked to assess the scene.

The Camry was an Uber, a police source said.

Its three passengers — two children and an adult — were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

Yarimi, whose Audi was flipped upside-down and crushed, with airbags deployed – was injured but was expected to survive.

The dead woman’s husband was home with the couple’s infant when the crash happened, a resident confirmed

‘My neighbor had to go to the husband and tell him that his wife and two children passed away,’ the resident told the nypost. ‘He lost two out of four children, yes, in one day. Plus his wife.’

Police had the area surrounding the wreckage blocked off with yellow tape.
