A Brooklyn grandmother who went missing while visiting a longtime friend in Las Vegas earlier this month has been found dead, her body recovered near an embankment near Las Vegas airport.

Alisa Goods, 63, was last seen Aug. 8 after leaving her friend’s apartment near the Las Vegas Strip to go shopping at a CVS pharmacy.

The grandmother of five’s body was found early Thursday near Terminal 1 at Harry Reid International Airport. Police responded to the area around 1:45 a.m. after a body was found along a drainage ditch, KTNV reported.

Family searching for answers

Investigators found surveillance footage from the day Goods disappeared showing a woman believed to be the misisng 63-year-old near the airport that same afternoon.

Police have yet to reveal the cause of death or how Goods ended up at the airport.

The tragic discovery led to Goods family expressing grief and searching for answers.

‘Our hearts are broken. We were notified that my aunt was found—unfortunately, not the way we wanted her to be. This is an unimaginable time. Words cannot describe the pain our family is experiencing right now,’ Goods’ heartbroken niece, Alana Calloway, said in a statement.

‘We just want to thank the public for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers. We also want to thank the media for helping bring attention to this situation. This hurts so deeply. We are still trying to learn the details surrounding her death. We ask for continued prayers and privacy as we grieve.’

Mystery texts asking for money and bitcoin

Goods was in town visiting her friend of 20 years, Roger John, who called her ‘the nicest person you would meet.’

John, who police said was not a suspect in her disappearance, aided in the search effort posting flyers featuring Goods’ face around the area she was last seen.

Her family said Goods had recently undergone several surgical procedures on her legs, which would make it difficult for her to get far on foot.

After her disappearance, they grew increasingly suspicious when Goods’ disconnected cell phone started sending messages asking for money, and eventually Bitcoin.

Her daughter, Kristin, flew into town from New Jersey hoping to find her mother, even checking hospitals and morgues, but to no avail.

Stated a GoFundMe fundraiser launched to pay for memorial and funeral expenses:

“It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that our beloved mother, Alisa Goods, has been found and has passed away.

‘For our family, this is a devastating loss. After the uncertainty and anguish of not knowing where she was, we are now faced with the painful reality of saying goodbye and making arrangements to honor her life and memory.’

Police to date declined to comment on the case, including whether they were seeking a suspect in connection to Goods’ death.
