Body of Amada Mia Brown, 5-year-old girl swept off Laguna Beach amid rough waters found as social media blames mom for California child’s drowning death.
The body of a 5-year-old girl who was swept away amid rough surf at a California beach earlier this week has been fond.
Amada Mia Brown died after she was swept into the ocean with her mother and brother off Laguna Beach, California, Tuesday night.
Amada’s body was recovered Thursday morning during an aerial search about 250 to 300 yards off Christmas Cove, roughly a quarter-mile north of Treasure Island Beach, where a powerful swell pulled the family into the water.

Bystanders were able to rescue the girl’s mother and her brother after being carried off by swirl along the shoreline, whilee Amada disappeared in the surf, prompting a multi-agency search that covered more than 90 square miles before the U.S. Coast Guard suspended operations Wednesday night.
Two people who helped with the rescue effort were transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. Both were in stable condition.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Coroner Division later confirmed the girl’s identity and notified her family, according to a city news release.
‘Our deepest condolences go out to the child’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,’ Capt. Stacey Crecy of Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach said in a statement announcing the end of the search.

Stated Amada’s father, Aaron Brown, ‘She was my little princess,’ speaking to ABC 7.
Adding, ‘She loved the beach… She was never afraid of the water.’
Asked to comment on social media blaming Amada’s mother for the drowning, the dad responded that they were ‘hurtful and causing more harm.’
Adding, ‘The simple fact is that she was doing anything any mother would do, take her children out to have a good time. Unfortunately, the waves were a little bit too much.’
California beach officials issue warnings
An online fundraiser on behalf of the girl’s family, titled ‘In Loving Memory of Amada Mia Brown,’ was created late Thursday to support the family with funeral costs and other expenses as they navigate their loss.
The organizer describes Amada as a beloved child whose life was cut short in a sudden ocean tragedy and asks donors to help ‘honor her memory‘ by easing the financial strain on her parents.
Officials said dangerous ocean conditions remained in the area and warned that the hazardous surf could continue through the week, with the potential to pull people into deep water within seconds.
Officials urged the general public to think twice before getting into the water as a powerful swell creates dangerous conditions along Southern California’s coastal areas.
