A vacationing Harrison, Ohio couple have been outed by social media as being a dine and dash couple causing havoc after Panama City restauranteur, Amanda Gallagher shared a Facebook post asking for help identifying a family of four skipping out on their restaurant bill (and one suspects a repeat affair while away on holiday).
Posted Gallagher on February 24: ‘Saturday night at Dustys Oyster Bar & Eatery, a family of four enjoyed a full meal with drinks totaling around $150.
Razor thin restaurant margins and skipping on bill customers
‘Security footage shows the woman leaving first with two children while the man remained at the table finishing his food and beer. When the check was dropped, neither reviewed it. The man picked it up, crumpled it, tossed it on the plate, and walked out.
‘We are a locally owned restaurant. Our servers work hard for their tips. When someone chooses to dine and dash, it doesn’t hurt a corporation…it hurts real people.
‘We have clear footage of the table and vehicle. We would prefer to resolve this privately and give the opportunity to make it right before taking further steps.
‘If you are the individuals involved or know who they are, please contact us directly.’
Social media plots karma payback
Needless to say, the couple since identified as Salina and Cory Coffey of Harrison, Ohio, courtesy of AbbyBlabby, never got back to Gallagher, which in turn led to social media taking matters into their own hands.
Of note the couple to date have not been arrested, charged or prosecuted but social media may soon pay karma either way.
Responded one of the commentators on Abby’s thread, ‘She’s real brave for leaving her business page up,’ with a link to Coffey Photography.
Responded another, ‘time to leave bad reviews!’.
Observed one astute commentator, ‘But she made sure to remove any commenting on her profile page, and removed her husband’s name and link to his page.’
Wrote another, ‘Posted it on their community page in Harrison, Ohio,’ with a link to the page stating, ‘Pay your bill Salina Coffey-Shame on you and your husband!’
And then there were these remarks as well, ‘They can afford SeaWorld and other vacations it seems. Knowing their eating and then just walking out on the bill is nuts.’
‘Imagine how many other business they have probably done this to.’
‘Well we know how they can afford to go on so many vacations.’
This author has since reached out to the couple to get their side of their story and see if they can make it up to Amanda Gallagher and the waitress they stiffed.
