Leigh Mcalister missing Lexington, South Carolina married mom attending church conference over Valentine’s Day weekend fails to return home only to end up found at a hospital 200 miles away days later without her car or personal belongings amid questions of what happened to married woman. 

Was mom having an affair…. or maybe a mental episode? A South Carolina mother who never made it home after attending a church conference was mysteriously found days later at a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Leigh McAlister, 37, was reported missing by her husband, Rob, on Valentine’s Day, when she was due to return to her and her husband’s home in Lexington, just outside of Columbia, from the church conference in Midtown Atlanta. Except for reasons unknown, Rob’s wife never made it home.

McAlister a mother of a 4-year-old boy was located at a hospital in the city, some 200 miles from the family home, her husband Rob shared on social media. 

What happened to Lexington mom from the time she left church conference to her being found at hospital 200 miles away? 

Leigh traveled to the city for the conference on February 13, with Rob saying he last heard from her that evening, 11 Alive reports

She had originally planned to return home the next day, but a missing person’s poster that was shared online by her friends notes she was considering returning a day later than she had originally planned for unknown reasons.

The last anyone saw of Leigh was at a Publix supermarket in the upscale Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, Saturday night, February 14.

Unanswered questions as criminal probe now opened

The mystery then deepened on Monday, when her SUV was found abandoned near the Atlanta Braves stadium, less than 10 miles from the supermarket.

Inside the vehicle were her personal belongings, including her phone and wallet.

‘It’s not like her,’ Rob told WLTX.

The husband told the outlet that his wife had never disappeared before. Rob said their four-year-old son was left asking where his mom is.

Rob later shared on social media that Leigh had been located at a hospital in Atlanta.

Officials have not publicly explained how she ended up there.

The Cobb County Police Department in South Carolina has since confirmed that its Major Crimes Unit is investigating McAlister’s disappearance, as questions remain about why her car may have been abandoned or how she traveled without her car, phone and wallet along with ending up at the hospital.

The mom has to date not publicly commented on her disappearance.
