‘I went too far…’ A Seattle mother has been accused of mercilessly beating her 14 year old son to death over the course of 3 hours, leaving the boy with one thousand bruises & cuts on his body.

Denaya Young, 29, of Beacon Hill, Seattle, allegedly became enraged with the 14-year-old after the teen failing to do his chores and proceeded to beat the teen over the course of three hours until he stopped breathing on January 30.

Seattle mom admits going too far

Police say Young waited for five minutes after her son stopped breathing before she called 911, Fox 13 reported.

During police questioning, the parent told officers conceded that ‘she had gone too far,’ and that she had ‘let the anger get the best of her’ and ‘lost count’ of how many times she hit the teen.

The boy suffered at least 1,172 separate injuries during the abuse, King 5 reported.

Young is accused of beating the teen with a HDMI cord even after the boy begged his mother to stop. But to no avail.

Young allegedly told police the boy said he was dizzy several times during the beating, telling police she thought he was lying.

‘I just kept swinging the (HDMI) chord, I should have listened, but I kept saying you’re gonna stand up and do your chores and he was like mom I’m dizzy, I can’t do it, and I thought he was faking,’ she told the detective.

Young also admitted to hitting the teen in the past with a closed fist and ‘probably’ putting her hands around his neck during a previous beating, court documents stated, KIRO7 reported.

During the beating, the 14 year old’s three siblings, a 5-month old, and a 4- and 6-year-old, were present. The teen’s stepfather was also present during the beating, but did nothing to stop it, according to court documents.

Young’s partner and the father of her other children reportedly told police he heard the assault happening but did not intervene.

The stepfather told officers that he didn’t intervene with the teen’s previous beatings because the child is not his and he felt it wasn’t his place.

The man allegedly told police: ‘I don’t want to jump in, and then I’m getting jumped on, you feel? I’m not even trying to have that type of day.’

The un-named man added that in ‘these situations’ it is ‘best to mind [your] business.’

Young did not have custody of the boy, who had traveled to visit her in August; officials say Young never returned the boy to his aunt who is his legal guardian.

She is charged with second-degree murder and is being held on $3 million bail.

It’s unclear if the stepfather will now face charges in connection to the teen’s beating death.
