Original story: At least five individuals have died, including a ‘juvenile’ gunman who took their own life following a mass shooting Monday morning at a private Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, according to reports. Police revisions now state the death toll being three, including that of the student gunman.
The shooting broke out just before 11 a.m. local time at Abundant Life Christian School, a K-12 facility in the state’s capital, leading to five deaths (including that of the student gunman) and multiple people injured, AP News reported.
Preliminary reports told of the un-identified ‘juvenile’ gunman taking their own life, with police saying that the shooter was ‘down,’ according to ABC News.

The alleged juvenile shooter was described as being a student at the school, NBCDFW reported. It remained unclear how the un-identified juvenile shooter came to target the Christian K-12 educational facility.
‘This remains an active and ongoing investigation,’ police said in a statement. ‘More information will be released as it is available. We currently need people to avoid the area.’
In an update Monday, Madison Chief of Police Shon Barnes said seven people were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their injuries ranged from minor to life-threatening, police said. It is thought two of those transported mortally succumbed to their injuries bringing the death toll from an initial 3 dead (including gunman) to a total of five.
The student gunman was found ‘deceased,’ inside a building on campus of a self inflicted mortal wound, FOX6 reported.

Abundant Life Christian School shooting motive
Photo and video from the scene showed multiple fire trucks and police cars surrounding the school, with some roads in the area closed. According to WMTV15, a public safety alert was sent out to nearby phones around 11:20 a.m.
Barnes says police officers who responded did not fire their weapons.
Abundant Life Christian School has about 390 students, from kindergarten through high school, according to its website. It sits on a 28-acre campus that hosts students from about 200 families in the Dane county area.
This week was the school’s last week before Christmas vacation, with Friday scheduled to be the students’ final day.
To date authorities have yet to say what led to the student gunman targeting fellow students.
