Preston Bell, Independence, Missouri teen reported missing and abducted the night before from his home found shot dead in abandoned car the next day. No suspect identified.
A 19-year-old Missouri man who was kidnapped from his home Saturday night was found shot to death in a car in Kansas City one day later.
Preston Bell was observed being forced into a car at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, with his family calling police after being unable to make contact with the ‘missing’ teen according to Independence Police.
On Sunday afternoon, Kansas City police officers responded to a call about someone ‘passed out’ in the car along Interstate 435 exit ramp about a mile from Bell’s home. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Bell deceased from a gunshot wound in the backseat.
No known motive or suspect in shooting death of Independence teen
Independence Police identified the car as the one associated with the missing person alert and identified the dead man as Bell.
Police identified the vehicle as a black Chevrolet Malibu, MO License RL4-C4B with a dent in the passenger door, the same one he had been seen forced into the evening before.
Police advised the teen’s shooting death was an active homicide investigation and that there was no suspect information at this time. Police provided no immediate motive to the 19 year old Independence man’s shooting death.
