Wyatt Testerman, Erlanger, Kentucky man, 18, beats his 74 year old grandmother, Cheri Oliver to death following domestic dispute at residence.
An 18 year old Kentucky man is accused of beating his 74 year old grandmother to death following a domestic dispute Tuesday afternoon.
Wyatt Testerman of Erlanger, KY, is alleged to have assaulted 74-year-old Cheri Oliver, resulting in serious injuries to her head.
Oliver was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she died.
‘Became violent for no apparent reason’
It was later revealed the grandparent was bludgeoned to death with a ‘drinking tumbler’ after being repeatedly struck with the mix shaker and the teen’s fists, leading to the 74 year old suffering fatal head trauma, WDKY reported.
Responding officers found the 18 year old grandson outside the residence and was immediately detained ‘without incident’ according to a Facebook release from the Erlanger Police Department.
‘This incident was isolated and there is no further threat to the public,’ police stated.
The EPD said that ‘a dispute between family members’ had occurred on Tuesday before the time of Oliver’s death. It remained unclear what had triggered the ‘dispute.’
Witnesses at the scene told law enforcement that Testerman ‘became violent for no apparent reason,’ before repeatedly striking the head around her head.
Testerman was held overnight without bond at the Kenton County Detention Center.
Kenton County District Court Judge Anne Ruttle set his bond at $500,000 cash during his video arraignment from the county jail early Wednesday morning where he faced murder and domestic violence charges related to his grandmas death.

The grandson was observed displaying no emotion during the brief hearing, FOX19 reported.
The case is set to return to court next week: Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
If convicted of murder the 18 year old man faces no less than 20 years and perhaps life.
