Marcee Gray, Winder, Georgia woman, charged with abusing her own mom, Deborah Polhamus, tying her to chair for over 24 hours. The abuse comes months before her teen son, Colin Gray shot dead four at school with a high velocity rifle, his dad, Colin Gray supplied him with.
And it continues …the mother of a 14 year old teen boy who shot up his Georgia school earlier this month, killing 4 and wounding countless others, was charged earlier this week with allegedly abusing her own mother, taping her to a chair, stealing her phone along with damaging her home.
Marcee Gray known to have struggled with addiction, ongoing run-ins with authority and stints in jail, was indicted Monday in Ben Hill County, Ga., for the alleged abuse of her own mom, Deborah Polhamus in November — who was bound to a chair for almost 24 hours in her Fitzgerald home, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reported.
The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree…
Gray, 43, was booked with several charges including, exploitation and intimidation of a elderly person, false imprisonment, criminal damage to property in the second degree, and theft, the outlet reported.
She could face up to 20 years in jail for the top most egregious charge of felony elder exploitation.
Her son, Colt Gray, 14, has been accused of fatally shooting two students and two teachers at his school last month.
The abuse occurred Nov. 3, after Gray demanded Polhamus accompany her as she was about to angrily confront her ex, Colin Gray, authorities said. Previous reports told of Gray and Colin being embroiled in a fractured violent relationship, which many point to leading to their son being unduly influenced and ‘tainted’ leading up to the teen’s own violent splurge.
An incident report cited by AJC, stated when Polhamus refused to go, Marcee Gray taped her mother to a chair, stealing her iPhone and damaging a bathroom mirror and the back door of the older woman’s home.
‘Marcee became upset and told Deborah that she was making her go with her because she was going to kill her ex,’ according to the incident report.
‘Deborah stated she refused to go and Marcee threw her up against the wall causing a cut on her left wrist. Marcee stated that since Deborah wasn’t going she was going to tie her to a chair and take her phone so she wouldn’t call anyone,’ according to the document.
Notice of the alleged abuse came when one Polhamus’ other daughters who lives in Florida wasn’t able to get in contact with her mother, with the woman sending a friend to her mother’s house.
When the friend got inside the house, she found Deborah Polhamus taped at her wrists and ankles to a chair and freed her, WSB-TV reported.
If convicted against the 4 counts of murder charges against him, Colt Gray will spend the rest of his life behind bars without conviction. Equally daunting is the fate awaiting the boy’s father, Colin Gray who has been charged with failing to stop the shooting after intentionally supplying his son with a high velocity AR-15 rifle. The 54 year old parent if convicted faces up to 180 years jail.
It remained unclear when Marcee Gray’s court date is next scheduled…
