Donald Trump‘s would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks had explosives in the car he drove to the Pennsylvania rally and used a firearm purchased by his father. Furthermore authorities found the family home where the 20 year old resided stocked with bomb making materials, raising the question how did the alleged gunman’s parents not know what their son was up to?
Authorities found the ‘explosive devices’ in the 20-year-old’s vehicle and home after Secret Service agents shot and killed him seconds after he opened fire on the former president, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Trump survived the attempt on his life, with a bullet piercing his right ear and was expected to now make a full recovery. Nevertheless, an attendee, Corey Comperatore, 50, was killed trying to protect his family from flying bullets, while two other attendees sustained gunshot wounds.

Thomas Matthew Crooks bombs & explosives found in car and home
Matthew Crooks, 53, legally purchased the AR-15 rifle that his son used to attempt to assassinate Trump on Saturday. The semi automatic rifle was acquired in 2013.
Crooks, who graduated high school just two years ago, parked his vehicle near the rally site in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday before scaling to the roof of a nearby industrial manufacturing building and targeting Trump.
How the 20 year old managed to bring a ladder to the building along with a rifle and not be preempted by police security continued to be a focus of contention amid growing ‘conspiracy theory’ that the shooting may have been an insider job or allowed to have happened as the result of ‘gross incompetence.’
Reports of suspicious packages
Authorities claim that after police received multiple reports of suspicious packages near where the shooter parked his car it prompted them to dispatch bomb technicians.
Investigators worked well into the night to make sure the scene was clear, which included searching Crooks’ home and speaking with his family.
The FBI search led to the discovery of more bombs in the family’s Bethel Park home, according to reports.
Members of the community where Crooks is believed to have lived with his parents were swarmed by police and Secret Service on Sunday morning.
A previous report detailed the sniper suspect having a fractured relationship with his parents, Matthew B Crooks and Elena Crooks both being registered Democrats.
To date the sniper’s fun has declined to address the media, telling CNN that he was ‘trying to figure out what the hell happened,’ and would wait until he spoke to law enforcement before speaking about his son.
Locals and neighbors said the the family were quiet and kept to themselves.
Not immediately clear is how the 20 year old was able to access the bomb making materials along with bringing them to the family home without sounding off alarms with his parents?
The would-be assassin was a registered Republican and 2022 high school graduate. Records show Crooks donated on the day of the 2020 inauguration to a progressive group backing President Joe Biden.
Bethel Park School District, where Crooks was a student until two years ago, verified his graduation from the high school and is cooperating with investigators.
According to Pennsylvania’s public court records, Crooks had no criminal history and officials claimed they are still working towards identifying a motive behind the shooting. To date, the FBI has stated that there were no obvious clues as to why the 20 year old sought to assassinate Donald Trump.
