Remi Lucidi aka Remi Enigma falls 721ft to his death from 68 story Hong Kong skyscraper, the Tregunter Tower in stunt gone wrong. French daredevil became trapped when he was unable to re enter the building’s structure.

A French Daredevil known for extreme sports was killed when he plunged 721 feet to his death moments after scaling a 68th story Hong Kong residential skyscraper.

Remi Lucidi, 30, was climbing the Tregunter Tower complex when the man fell after having attempted to re enter the building after apparently locking himself out of the structure according to the South China Morning Post.

Lucidi, known online as Remi Enigma, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Daredevil was able to deceive everyone except fate

The daredevil had a history of climbing various towers around the world whether  buildings or more obscure structures such as cranes, bridges, pylons or even transmitters.

According to Hong Kong officials, Lucidi arrived at the building around 6 p.m. and told the security guard that he was visiting a friend on the 40th floor.

A security officer attempted to apprehend Lucidi after the alleged friend confirmed he was not acquainted with Lucidi — but by then the stuntman had already secured an elevator.

Security footage showed Lucidi arriving on the 49th floor and then again taking the stairs up to the top of the building.

According to those in pursuit of Lucidi, they found the hatch leading to the roof open, but he was nowhere in sight.

Police say the man was last seen alive at 7:38 p.m. when he tapped on the window of the complex’s penthouse, prompting a maid to call the police.

Trapped and unable to regain access to inside building

Police believe Lucidi was trapped outside of the penthouse and was banging on the window for help before the unfortunate accident.

A source close to the incident revealed that police found Lucidi’s camera at the scene and it contained videos of his other death-defying acts.

Police have yet to issue an official cause of death.

According to Gurjit Kaur, owner of the hostel where Lucidi was reportedly boarded, the guest was a ‘friendly and humble guy.’

‘He was healthy and fit and happy-faced,’ Kaur told the South China Morning Post. ‘I feel very sad.’

A worker at the hostel claimed that he had spoken with Lucidi several times before his death and that he had told him that the man was visiting Hong Kong on vacation.

‘He told me he was going to hike a mountain when I asked where he was going. He said he wanted to hike a lot when he was here,’ said the worker.

Many of the photos posted to Remi Lucidi’s Instagram sees him clinging to the spires of tall buildings and he may have been attempting to do the same when he fell.
