Biggest rock bands to have had residency in Las Vegas & played to sell out crowds. Music legends celebrated as part of Sin City’s lore of fun and entertainment.

Whilst Las Vegas might be known around the world for its fame, glitz and glamour, as well as the world-famous casinos that it has to offer, the city has become a huge hub for all forms of entertainment.

Many of the biggest sporting events that are involved in combat sports such as MMA/UFC and boxing regularly take place in the bright lights that the Vegas strip has to offer, whilst there are also a number of musical acts that all take to performing regularly in the city.

Las Vegas could have been accused for being rather pop-orientated with its music choices at one moment in time, as acts such as Britney Spears, Cher, Celine Dion and Calvin Harris have all had residencies in the past, however it seems that there has been a shift to rock music in recent memory. And not to be undone is Katy Perry who announced her upcoming residency in Las Vegas for late 2021.

Here are just some of the biggest rock bands to have had a residency in the entertainment capital:

Aerosmith

Whilst many who play at online casinos will have potentially played the bands very own slot game themed after the famed rock and roll band, like those found on this list of games to play at Platincasino, those who go to a physical casino in Las Vegas will be able to have the opportunity to witness the legendary rock band do their thing on stage.

The band have a residency at the Park Theatre, which is part of the world-famous MGM Resort in Las Vegas. The resort has had a number of the biggest acts to have a residency there, so it probably does not come as a surprise that Aerosmith have decided to pick it as their ideal location to have their own residency.

The band had played throughout April and June 2019 on a near-nightly basis as they performed their biggest songs, with many of the performances selling out throughout their time as thousands of fans continued to watch them throughout their time there.

Journey

Although they had a number of huge hits throughout the years, their “Don’t Stop Believin’” hit is arguably one of their greatest and the one that many rockers will associate with the band, Journey. Nonetheless, the rock band have remained popular with those in Las Vegas, as they have had a number of shows in the city, as well as a residency.

Journey set up camp at the world-renowned Caesars Palace in the Colosseum that the venue has to offer back in 2019, with the band playing continually to sold-out crowds in October 2019. As mentioned, the band have experience of playing in Las Vegas, as they have had multiple shows at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in 2015 and 2017, before opting for a new location in 2019.

Def Leppard

Another rock band to have had a slot game based on them after achieving legendary status within the rock music industry, Def Leppard unsurprisingly have had a residency in Las Vegas as well as Aerosmith and Journey.

Performing at Planet Hollywood, they performed over a 6-week period throughout August and September 2019 in a show named ‘Def Leppard Hit Vegas: Sin City Residency’. Indeed, performing a residency at Planet Hollywood is an achievement in itself, as the venue is known to only acquire the best of the best when looking for entertainment acts. Unsurprisingly, their shows sold out immediately as they became a must-see.
