Martin Benson Wendy’s Hamburglar arrested after robbing fast food vendor but not before firing up the grill to cook himself a hamburger at Jensen Beach franchise.
Also making his tabloid debut is Florida man, Patrick ‘Martin’ Benson who was arrested on Saturday after breaking into Jensen Beach, Wendy’s outlet but not before stopping to cook himself a hamburger before walking away with cash from the store safe -only to be shortly after detained by cops.
Upon his arrest, the 34 year old ‘hamburglar’ was booked on charges of burglary, grand theft, and attempted burglary according to a released statement courtesy of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the statement, our collective hero forced his way into the fast food outlet after smashing a window with a brick.
‘But since we’re here we might as well fire one up on the grill says me….’
Video surveillance caught the ‘Hamburglar’ firing up the grill (why decline…?) and making himself some
well earned dinner before walking away with cash from the safe.
But it gets better.
Our collective hero then when to another Jensen Beach restaurant where he helped himself to yet more ‘yummy’ food and money. ‘Where there’s a will and a hungry appetite – there will always be a way. Legal or not!’
‘Once in, he casually worked his way around the establishments and selected the items he was going to steal,’ the sheriff’s office said. ‘In one case, he fired up the grill and cooked himself a hamburger before stealing the safe.’
And there’s more too. See what happens kids when you help yourself to a hearty dinner…
Cops said Benson also that evening tried robbing a gas station, but was unable to break in.
