Talk about ingenuous methods…
Tehani Teepe a 39 year old woman attempting to smuggle heroin to her boyfriend has been arrested after authorities intercepted the woman attempting to bring a heroin laced bible into Ohio’s Hamilton County Justice Center.
Meant to be on the receiving end was 28 year old inmate, Timothy King.
Since been intercepted, Teepe and King have been charged with illegal conveyance of contraband into a correctional facility.
The discovery came after an officer examined the bible following a standard sweep of deliveries using a K-9 in December.
The book was sent to the coroner’s office for testing after the officer noticed a coffee-like stain, which incidentally had been plastered in the first book of Daniel on page 420, a common drug reference.
Upon further examination, a coroner’s office confirmed the substance was heroin. A regional narcotics unit would further tell the heroin pressed into the Bible page was probably enough for up to 40 hits.
Offered Chief Deputy Mark Schoonover:’It’s very inventive in my opinion,’
‘I just want to point out the great lengths they’re going to to get drugs into our facility.’
If convicted both Teepe and King could face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
King has since been transferred to Butler County Jail following the smuggling bust.
