Marissa Webb Fall 2014
It seems Scallywag’s resident fashion week photographer, Arthur Eisenberg was more than compelled by some of the outfits he came to see at the 2014 Mercedez Benz Fashion week collections here in NYC.
Writes the UK’s dailymail of the new fashion designer who only just had her second showing at Lincoln center to much acclaim: It was only Marissa’s second year at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, but the former J.Crew head womenswear designer still impressed the glitterati.
Webb’s show was dominated by graphic tweeds, leather sleeves, fur collars, and dark floral chiffon.
Bright crimson ensembles made for a striking finale to the preppy, polished show.
This being fashion week, the dailymail goes on to note the presence of actress Alyssa Milano who made sure to make her presence known as the paparazzi desperately clambered all over her as she took her throne front row.
Tells fashionspot; The Look: J.Crew’s former head designer may have just launched her label in Spring 2013, but her Fall 2014 collection makes it clear why she’s already landed in A-list retailers like Barneys. From start to finish the collection was rife with looks that fashion-conscious urban girls will be clamoring for. Skin-grazing black leather trousers, knee-length leather skirts, tweed, mixed textures, cropped at the ankle high shine red pants, slit skirts, sheer blouses, fur-trimmed jackets, loose and layered separates as well as casual plaid button downs were all shown and impeccably styled (little surprise given Webb’s pedigree).
Have a peek. A great start Ms Webb, looking forward to more of your brilliance.- Scallywag.
