Days of Wine & Roses Begin For Sud De France

“We’re working with an up and coming region. Their wines had a bad reputation. They had to make a better wine to compete with larger vineyards. We’re proud to represent them to the world.”

Ms. Fabre-Lanvin was on hand last night at The Frying Pan on Pier 66, managing her employees en Francais, all of which were dressed to kill. You’d almost expect a premium wine company to be populated with a cadre of stunning French women. Well, this one is.  It it’s a stereotype, it is one I’m happy to embrace.

“There’s a wine for every occasion,” said Fabre-Lanvin. “If it’s sunny and hot, a  rich white wine would suit. Match the wine to the day. It all depends on the occasion and what you pair it with.”

Indeed, pairing the right wine with the right meal is an essential art in high cuisine—not to mention the subject of one of Sud De France’s classes.  “Education is the best way to discover new things.”
