With some of the cream of top NY designers, including Tracy Reese, DKNY, Mara Hoffman, Lilly Pulitzer and Betsey Johnson, imagination wasn’t spared when these designers amongst others came up with a pairing of NYC’s finest floral designers, including Preston Bailey, whose exquisite headresses had this author in marvel.
Some of the crowd favorites included Imperial Court of New York in collaboration with Tera McInerney of Morningside Greenhouse which won the judge’s most outrageous design, with Viktor Luna for Avery J Fashion consultants in collaboration with Flora Tech taking the most beautiful and Sara Claire’s Elizabeth Taylor’s Cleopatra inspired piece winning the most entertaining.
Apart from the 2 muscle boys Abercrombie and Finch models who acted as Village Care CEO Emma Devito’s body attaches and somehow forced me to crane my neck that extra harder (yes Mr Aguilera was right- woe the sacrifices those boys make to keep such physiques)- it was a delightful event. Which is to say the nascent scent of floral appertif and headresses made some of us pleasantly dizzy…amongst other things.
