I remember a few years back Zac had a party at venue on Lafayette, just a block South of Astor Place. That event was off the hook and everyone wanted to get in to it. I remember people trying to give the doorman and people running the list money and trying out their best bs “I work for Leonardo DiCaprio”, or “I am Zac’s personal trainer”. None of that old luster was there, but with success I guess along comes a more docile and dare I say, elegant attitude?
I don’t have any answers but I would have welcomed some craziness to a room full of artistic, fashionable and somewhat timid or conservative guests (won’t mention the guys in drag, trying to appear as if they were NOT in drag). If I’m going to party with Zac and his cohort, I want to see some flavor, some wild crazy or obnoxious queens walking around with plastic boobs and make up say, or something else that only Zac could dream of…
Parties are meant to get out of control, that’s what defines a “party” and guests should feel they can let loose. Well, at least I enjoyed the champagne. One wonders how Zac Posen enjoyed it, in any event congratulations once again on a great line, at least that’s one thing Zac can pull off.
