From there I was introduced to Amir Dossal– who promptly took me in front of a makeshift mosquito bed netting.
AD: The beauty about this is it counters mosquitoes- which you know is how malaria is spread. With our cause ‘Nothing but net,’ these trappings which cost as little as $10 can be widely disseminated. Of course mind you the nets also make wonderful fishing nets…

From there I was then introduced to the rather affable Jennifer Rolfe- part of the Junior Committee who described the tradition of the debutante and the coming of age that it signifies.
SCV: So to be a debutante you have to be graduating from school?
JR: Or you can be nominated.
SCV: What about the escorts that accompanies the debutantes. What are the requirements in that department? Good looks, striking physique?
JR: (laughter)- No it’s hardly as stringent as that.
SCV: In that case I’ll hold off on my application….
With that we sauntered back to the bar where we imbibed on some Austrian red wine before refilling our bowls for a second helping of goulash- but not before we took in the visage of patrons on the dance floor…
