The parade, once it started and up until the point when we were all given a good wash by the heavens (whether we needed to or not), was incredible. The floats attracted plenty of attention, although one in particular I kept hoping would have it’s resident pixie of a DJ fall silently off the back, but alas no. The rain did get to be a little tiresome to say the least but there was something rather brilliant about being stuck in it too. The crowds hung on for dear life and for a lot longer than I would have ever expected – rather like the Brits during Wimbledon. But the night, despite the soggy bottoms and floppy stars, just got better. I would write about it, but after a stint at Soho house, which really looked incredible, I have no real recollection except the odd flash back of hanging out the roof of a limo – always a classy look. My first New York Halloween Parade shall forever be etched into my memory, rather like the black face paint I so liberally applied, which after 4 showers and profuse rubbing of skin is staying put. It’s a nice look on a Monday morning.

So NYC, I have to say when you do it, you do it well. Plenty of rather fabulous bottoms dusted in glitter and a decent display of torsos would keep anyone focused. This is not just dressing up, this is a full on performance and it was a sheer delight to have been part of it, even if in truth, some parts of it have forever been lost to the Tequila fairy…
