Devastated family of slain BAC exec release statement, ‘Erin was not defined by her stabbing’

The family of slain Bank of America executive, Erin Piacenti release statement in fundraiser to secure future of 5-year old daughter, Madison as relatives refuse ‘random violent death’ to define their daughter as social media questions how the ‘system’ failed the victim.

The family of a Bank of America V.P randomly slain near Times Square have released a statement in the aftermath of the tragedy which robbed a young woman ‘preparing to build’ a new life with her husband and their 5 month old daughter while also decrying the senselessness of her murder as social media decried a system that failed the slain executive.

Relatives of Erin Piacenti, 32, of Chester, N.J said they were ‘devastated’ by her unprovoked stabbing death Monday — her first day back at work after maternity leave in which they asked for privacy, according to the statement.

Piacenti, a University of Pennsylvania and Fordham University School of Law graduate, was randomly knifed by Pamela Cisneros, 49, a Queens mom-of-three who long battled mental illness.

In a GoFundme fundraiser dedicated to securing the future of the couple’s 5 year old daughter, Madison, ‘In Memory of Erin Piacenti: Supporting Madison’s Future,’ the family wrote, ‘Becoming a mother was Erin’s lifelong ambition, and Madison gave her the greatest possible joy.’

‘Erin’s life was defined not by the circumstances of her death, but instead by the way she lived,‘ the page reads.

Continued the family statement: ‘Erin’s life was defined not by the circumstances of her death, but instead by the way she lived. Erin was deeply devoted to her family and friends, exceptionally bright and accomplished, and was someone who brought warmth and energy to the people around her.

‘Erin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied political science and sang in an a cappella group. She started her career as a buyer at Bloomingdale’s. Erin later graduated from Fordham University School of Law magna cum laude, worked at Davis Polk for several years, and became a vice president at Bank of America.

‘Erin’s career accomplishments, however, speak to only a small portion of who she was. To the people who knew and loved her, Erin was a thoughtful daughter and sister, a loyal friend, a devoted partner and companion in every aspect of Frank’s life, and, most recently, an incredibly loving mother to Madison.

‘Erin and Frank celebrated their second wedding anniversary this summer, had just returned from a family road trip upon her passing, and were preparing to build a life together with their new daughter. That life changed incomprehensibly in an instant.’

Bank of America executive & married young mom failed by the system

Erin Guiltinan – her maiden name – married the love of her life, Frank Piacenti, on Aug. 10, 2024 after the pair attended Fordham Law together and shot up the corporate and legal ladders.

The couple had bought a dream home — a 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom modern build house in leafy Chester, New Jersey — in September 2025, property records show and were embarking on starting and raising a family. All of which was cruelly taken away in a chance random encounter.

Leading up to her death, Piacenti had worked at Bank of America for the last 18 months as a vice president in the business-selection-and-conflicts team.

Cisneros – who also seriously wounded Tak Kam, a 68-year-old Rhode Island dad – was shot and killed as she tried to charge NYPD cops while clutching a knife in each hand. Repeated attempts to deploy Taser on the unhinged woman came to no effect.

The stabber’s mother has since demanded answers, stating that cops should have ‘grabbed’ her daughter’s arms instead of resorting to gun violence.

The episode has once again highlighted the fractured plight of modern day living in the U.S along with mental health and treating those afflicted with the condition. Or the lack of treatment.

“The system failed them. That woman should have been committed,” stated one commentator on social media.

“Why wasn’t she offered the help she so desperately needed?” wrote another.

Mused another, “How many killings will it take to take mental health in society seriously?”
