James Priddy of Bimble, Kentucky shoots & kills Kira Lila Hope Asher and Jadence Ann Marie Hale, both of Lily then self in murder suicide in domestic violence incident.
Three people in Kentucky were killed in a reported murder-suicide Saturday night during a high speed police chase through Knox and Laurel counties.
According to a news release, the Barbourville City Police had been chasing a vehicle around 10:45 p.m. June 6 regarding a report of a possible domestic violence complaint.
James Priddy, 21, of Bimble is alleged to have shot and killed Kira Lila Hope Asher, 19, and Jadeance Ann Marie Hale, 18, both of Lily, WAVE3 reported.
Driver refuses to pull over leading to high speed police chase
Barbourville police had been called to a reported domestic situation involving the three teens in Knox County by concerned parents of the teens. The teens who’d left to get something to eat and who had failed to return were located in a red Chevrolet Cobalt, with police motioning for the car to pull over according to LEX News.
When the vehicle driver, Priddy refused, it prompted a police pursuit reaching speeds of over 100 mph, crossing into Laurel County before ending with the teens’ vehicle crashing on Kentucky Highway 312 near Keavy.
Domestic violence tragedy
When officers approached the vehicle, they found all three occupants dead inside from gunshot wounds, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office. Multiple agencies, including the Knox and Laurel County sheriff’s offices and Kentucky State Police, continue to investigate.
Hale was allegedly in a relationship with Priddy, according to authorities. Asher leaves behind a young daughter.
A GoFundMe has since been organized to assist the Hale and Asher families with covering funeral costs.
