Christen Alyse Phillips, Jacksonville DoorDash driver savagely beaten making final delivery of the night as the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina seek assistance in making arrest as victim now needs multiple surgery.
A DoorDash driver hailing from Jacksonville, North Carolina has claimed being followed and attacked while finishing her last shift over the weekend, leading to her suffering multiple skull fractures, brain bleeds and other serious injuries.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office is now asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect.
Traffic incident turns to DoorDash driver being hunted
Christen Alyse Phillips in a post shared on Facebook said the incident began around 1 a.m. after she encountered a Range Rover sitting at a red light. The light turned green, but the vehicle didn’t move, so she honked her horn to get their attention.
The driver began to proceed but immediately got behind Christen and began tailgating her according to Phillips.
The vehicle followed her to the location of her delivery in the 300 block of Shamrock Drive while driving past her after her stopping according to WNCT.
After completing her the delivery and making her way back to her vehicle, Phillips alleges the other driver turning around, returning to the area and parking in front of her car, blocking it.
As Christen made her way back to her car, a man allegedly approached the driver’s side door carrying what she described as a small wooden bat or baton.

Multiple skull fractures and brain bleeds
With no memory of the attack itself, Phillips said she woke up at an unknown amount of time later. The attacker was gone, and she could not locate her phone.
A confounded Phillips managed to drive herself to the hospital.
Christen was subsequently transported to a trauma center in Wilmington, where doctors determined she had suffered multiple skull fractures and brain bleeds. Blood and cerebrospinal fluid reportedly drained from her left ear for several hours, and she also suffered a fracture to the left cheekbone.
Potential witnesses asked to step up
In a recent update, she said despite having a lumbar drain placed, fluid continues to leak from her ear. If it does not slow down and stop, she will have to go back to the OR to have a shunt placed- a device that redirects fluid or blood from one part of the body to another.
The attacker was described as a light-complexioned black man, approximately 6 feet tall and believed to be in his late 30s to 40s, with short, dark hair.
Anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious or who has home security, doorbell or surveillance footage from the area around the time of the attack is urged to contact the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.
Phillips and their family are asking the public to share the information in hopes that someone may have captured the suspect or the black Range Rover on camera.
