Sadie Flores, Graves County, Kansas middle school teacher arrested for grooming student after under that state’s new law after parents found inappropriate messages.
A Kentucky middle school teacher who was the first to be charged under a new grooming law in the state has been identified as being a married new mom.
Sadie Flores, 25, a Graves County Middle School teacher was arrested on Friday and charged with grooming a minor – four years after marrying her husband, David, a machine operator, and a year after giving birth to their first child, a daughter.

‘We are so grateful God chose us to be parents to this sweet baby,’ Flores stated on Facebook in July 2024, announcing her pregnancy at the time.
‘Our greatest adventure is about to begin!’
Flores shared snaps of her daughter posing in front of church signs, just weeks before she was arrested at her workplace following a complaint from the accuser’s parents, WPSD reported.
She ‘attempted to manipulate the minor and expressed feelings of love and admiration more so than just a student-teacher relationship,’ Graves County Sheriffs said in a press release.
Police have not revealed her alleged victim’s age, but the Mail reported school board officials were contacted by a parent of a 14-year-old.
Abuse of position, trust and authority
The alleged victim’s parent found texts allegedly shared by Flores and the child deemed ‘not to be of a legitimate purpose and were not school related.’
The educator and the student also ‘met in secret before a school function, outside of school, that [she] was not directly a part of,’ according to Graves County Sheriffs Office.
They also allegedly had late-night FaceTime calls that ‘the parents were not aware of,’ police stated.
Graves County Schools Superintendent Matt Madding addressed the teacher’s arrest, saying district officials “immediately reported” the allegations to authorities after learning of them.
Not immediately clear is how long Flores and the child had allegedly been messaging.
Flores has been charged with grooming a minor under a law that took effect on July 15.
The law allows police to charge predators before sexual assault happens.
Teachers must also take part in sessions focused on preventing grooming.
It’s unclear if Flores has entered a plea.
