Gunfight between 2 shooters at Bite of Seattle food festival at Seattle Center leaves 3 dead & 4 injured as cops arrest one man & seek arrest of second shooter who remains at large. Fatalities described as two men, ages 19 and 44, and a 56-year-old woman.

Three people are dead and four others are injured, including a 2-year-old child, after shots rang out at the Bite of Seattle food festival at the Seattle Center on Sunday, according to officials.

Police said two people, thought to be rival gang members started shooting at each other. One of those people fled and was still unaccounted for, officials said. Meanwhile, another suspect was taken into custody.

Authorities to date have not released the identity of the arrested individual, only identified as a ‘young person’. Video shared online showed authorities leading the suspect away in handcuffs.

Two weapons were also recovered from the scene, leading authorities to believe the two suspects were shooting at each other officials said according to Eyewitness News

Seattle authorities said first responders were dispatched to the scene just after 6 p.m. When officers arrived, two people were shooting at each other, officials said during a press conference. One of those people fled and was still unaccounted for, officials said.

First responders attempted lifesaving efforts for two people, but they were unsuccessful, according to fire officials. Both victims, males ages ages 19 and 44, were declared deceased at the scene, SFD said.

Another person later died after being transferred to a local hospital, officials said during a Sunday press conference

Officials at the University of Washington Medicine’s Harborview Medical Center earlier said that a 56-year-old woman was in surgery and was in critical condition prior to her mortally succumbing to her injuries.

‘…act of horrific violence’

The other patients — a male child, a 23-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman — are in stable condition, according to the hospital. A 40-year-old woman with minor injuries from the scene declined transport to the hospital, according to fire officials.

The shooting occurred during Bite of Seattle, an annual festival with food vendors and live music held at the Seattle Center.

‘What happened at the Seattle Center today was an act of horrific violence,’ Mayor Wilson said in a statement.

Adding, ‘No one should have to weigh the risk of being shot before attending an event, gathering with friends, or experiencing their city.’

Officials said there were no surveillance cameras in the immediate area of the shooting, law enforcement said. Police are asking the public to come forward with information.

The Bite of Seattle festival started in 1982 and draws 350,000 attendees, according to its website.
