The father of the four children found dead inside their grandmother’s apartment in Mechanicville, upstate NY was just days from seeing them in person for the first time in more than six years.
Brady Harmon, who lives in Utah speaking to WRGB said he was counting down the days until July 1.
After years of fighting for custody of his children, the father had finally secured a court order allowing them to spend two months with him each summer, from July 1 to September 1, the dad told the outlet.
But now, instead of planning for their time together, he’s planning their funeral.

His children, Harper, Hudson, Gavin, and Gracelynn, were found dead alongside their mother, Sarah Myers, and grandmother, Amy Steadman, on Tuesday following a welfare check.
According to investigators, one of the children died from a stab wound, while the remaining victims appear to have been intentionally poisoned.
Investigators said officers recovered numerous prescription and over-the-counter medications from the home, along with other evidence indicating deliberate poisoning. Syringes were also found inside the residence and investigators believe some of the children may have been injected with drugs.
Bitter child custody dispute
Harmon and Myers had been married for several years, living in Utah, until November 2019, when he claims Myers left with the kids without notice and went to New York.
He filed for divorce in 2020 and has been fighting to see his kids ever since.
‘I went from, ‘I’m seeing my kids,’ to ‘I’ll never see my kids again,’’ Harmon told the otlet. ‘Hope to hell. Things happen, but nothing like this.’
On Thursday, Mechanicville Police Chief William Rabbit said that it’s suspected the grandmother may have had something to do with their deaths, adding that investigators found a handwritten note inside indicating she had intentionally poisoned her victims before taking her own life in what is believed to be a murder-suicide.
The chief also said that evidence recovered inside the apartment indicates intentional poisoning as the cause of death. One child was found with fatal stab wounds.
The causes and manners of death remain pending toxicology testing and further investigation, the official cautioned.
