Concordia Parish Crash in Vidalia, Louisiana leaves 2 teen passengers dead and teen driver, Gregory Steele facing multiple charges. Victims id as Michelle Baity & Jacob Bonnette. Speed and driving under impairment are suspected factors leading to tragedy. 

An early Sunday morning crash in Louisiana involving a single car left two teens dead and an 18 year old teen driver suspected of driving impaired now facing multiple charges.

Gregory Steele was driving north on Minorca Road in Vidalia when he lost control of a a 2001 Infiniti QX4 vehicle and left the road, causing the automobile to roll over and the death of two passengers.

Michelle Baity, 17, of Natchez, MS, and Jacob Bonnette, 19, of Vidalia were identified as the fatalities according to the Louisiana State Police.

Impairment is a suspected factor in crash involving teens

According to authorities, the three individuals were all not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Steele sustained minor injuries and an additional passenger, who was also not wearing a seatbelt, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

LSP say impairment is a suspected factor in the crash, and samples have been submitted for testing according to KNOE.

Authorities declined to say whether they believe speed was a factor in the vehicle leaving the road.

Steele was arrested on two counts of vehicular homicide, underage driving while intoxicated, vehicular negligent injuring and careless operation, according to reports.

The crash remains under investigation.
