Harrison Doyle Morris, 16-year-old Macon teen riding in back of Dodge Ram truck in Bibb County, Georgia killed after teen driver ‘maneuvering’ off road loses control and overturns, crashing. Incidents leads to three other teens injured.
A 16-year-old teen was killed over the weekend after he was ejected while riding in the back of a Dodge Ram truck after the vehicle overturned in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia officials said.
Harrison Doyle Morris, 16, died while traveling in the bed of the pick up truck as it traveled off road only for the driver, an un-identified teen losing control of the vehicle and crashing.
The crash happened around 7:51 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Vinson Road and Liberty Church Road according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Teen joyride turns fatal
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones pronounced Morris dead at the scene.
The 16-year-old driver, a front seat passenger and a 15-year-old rear passenger inside the truck were all injured and taken to a local hospital. Deputies say their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, 41NBC reported.
Posted the victim’s mother, Kalyn Collins on Facebook: ‘Even though I know my baby boy is right now sitting at the feet of Jesus, I want him back here with me. Harrison Morris save your Mama a seat right next to you. My forever 16, 6’4″ baby boy.’
Authorities to date have not pressed any charges in the tragedy.
The crash remains under investigation.
