Stone Mill Creek Murder-Suicide: Jarrott Strickland shoots and kills wife, Lorelei Strickland then self at their Wewahitchka, Gulf County, Florida residence. No known motive. 

A Gulf County, Florida man is believed to have take shot and killed his wife before turning the murder weapon on himself in an apparent murder-suicide

The Gulf County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called Monday afternoon to a residence off Stone Mill Creek Road, Wewahitchka, following a request for a welfare check where they found the couple dead inside the home. 

The couple were later identified by authorities as Lorelei Strickland and her husband, Jarrott Strickland. The couple were found deceased in a bedroom, WJHG reported.

No known motive 

Their ages and how long they had lived in the Stone Mill Creek community were not immediately released. No other injuries were reported and that there was no forced entry into the residence. Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The Medical Examiner’s Office is working with sheriff’s investigators to determine an exact timeline of events and complete autopsies. The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains open and ongoing as detectives process the scene and interview neighbors and relatives to learn what led up to the shootings.

The deaths come just days after Lorelei Elizabeth Strickland posted on Facebook on April 3, ‘I absolutely love my Job! So thankful for all the customers and coworkers that make me feel loved!’

News of the tragedy led to those who knew the couple expressing shock and dismay.

Wrote Shanice Johnson, ‘This is so shocking to me ! They were both always so sweet and nice, you never know bruh you just never f**king know.’
