One person has died and at least six others were injured after several masked suspects entered a Chick-fil-A restaurant and opened fire, Saturday night.
The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. on April 11, 2026 inside a Chick-fil-A located at 2139 Route 22 in Union Township, New Jersey.
An employee’s father said his son called him in a panic, explaining that multiple armed suspects had burst into the packed fast food chain and started shooting, and that several staff members appeared to be injured.

Unfolding fast food chain shooting described as ‘warzone’
RLS Media reported that at least six people were shot, with one person pronounced dead at the scene. One father, whose son works at the location, described the scene as a ‘warzone,’ adding that several employees were among those injured.
Separately, a boyfriend of one employee told CBS News that his girlfriend said the suspects went directly behind the counter after entering and immediately began firing.
‘I got an unconscious witness. I’ve got one shot in the face … and I have at least two in the leg,’ a 911 dispatcher is heard saying in audio obtained by CBS.
A Lyft driver told ABC that he was finishing a drop-off near the Chick-fil-A when he heard more than seven shots fired.
‘I finished my trip over there, in the return zone. I heard the shots. When I finished the trip, I go to Chick-fil-A to buy two burgers – I see the police, I heard the shots very close,’ he said.

No known motive or known suspects or arrests
Dashcam footage captured a man with a gun and a mask running away from the scene of the shooting in Union Township shortly before 9 p.m.
Terrified customers are also seen escaping after multiple masked gunmen reportedly stormed the restaurant, forced their way behind the counter, and fired multiple shots.
Terrified employees were kept locked down in the restaurant while police carried out their inquiries, according to relatives.
Authorities have yet to provide details on potential suspects or possible motives.
Police from multiple jurisdictions were seen at the scene.
Union, New Jersey. The town is located just over 15 miles outside of New York City.
Authorities say the investigation is still ongoing.
