Joseph Nicholas Shelton, Jr, Warren County, Tennessee man kills wife, Randi Jean Shelton and their 8-year-old daughter in Greenwood Drive murder-suicide. 

A murder-suicide in Tennessee over the weekend left three individuals dead, including a man, his wife and their 8-year-old daughter.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported that on Sunday, a deputy responded to a welfare check at a residence on Greenwood Drive around 2 p.m. Upon entering the home, officers found Joseph Nicholas Shelton, Jr., Randi Jean Shelton and their 8-year-old daughter deceased.

Deputies confirmed that Joseph Shelton, Jr. shot and killed his wife and daughter before taking his own life. Authorities described the incident as ‘domestic’ related and emphasized there was no threat to the community, FOX17 reported.

Domestic violence at home

Randi leaves behind two older children who were not at the residence at the time.

At the time of the shooting, the couple’s 8-year-old daughter attended Hickory Creek Elementary who shared a statement that read in part, ‘We continue to lift her family, friends, classmates, and teachers in prayer in the days ahead, and we remain thankful for the time she was a part of our Hickory Creek family. Her presence will always be remembered and cherished.’

Sheriff Matheny in a Facebook post expressed his condolences, asking the community to keep the affected families and first responders in their thoughts and prayers.
