A Connecticut man shot and killed his girlfriend and her two daughters at their Plainville residence before turning the murder-weapon on himself over the weekend.
Felisha Matthews, 31, her 4-year-old daughter Ava King and her 12-year-old daughter Mileena Matthews were reportedly killed by her live in boyfriend, 27-year-old Patrick King, at the Plainville residence, Friday night.
Police responded to 36 Milford Street at 3:53 p.m., on March 27 after a woman called 911 reporting her brother had called her and confessed to shooting his girlfriend and daughter and that he planned to kill himself.
Social media posts allude to turbulent relationship
Police shut down Milford Street and established a perimeter at the scene, and made attempts to communicate with King inside the home, NBC Connecticut reported.
After hours of communications, and the suspect refusing to give himself up, authorities deployed pepper gas, at which point King fatally shot himself.
Authorities said King and Felisha were in a relationship and had one daughter, Ava. Mileena was Matthews’ daughter from a previous relationship.
King and Felisha had been together for over seven years, according to their social media accounts.

Family had only just moved into Plainville home
During a press briefing, Plainville Police Chief Christopher Vanghele said that the family had moved into the home in January, and that police hadn’t previously been called to the residence.
‘They seemed like just normal people. Like the little girl was always happy and running down the sidewalk to go to school,’ neighbor Tim Sunderland said.
The Planeville police stated that the weapon King used to kill the family ‘appears’ to be legally registered to him, and that he had a permit to carry. Police discovered several other weapons at the residence, the police chief added.
Authorities stated no murder motive was immediately known as they continue to investigate the ‘tragedy’.
